I do know something about nasal or sinus problems first hand. I had never had a problem with it until I moved into the house I live in now. It was built in 1900 and has old carpet in it still. Whenever I vacuum my sinuses plug up and I sneeze. I would have to say I am probably allergic to the dust that gets stirred up. Old dust! One way I can remedy the congestion is to wear a dust mask when I vacuum. It works great and is not expensive or a potential hazard to my health like a decongestant I would buy from the store. I did use them once a few years back and that was enough for me. I felt really strange and had a hard time concentrating on anything. It was horrible! The worst part was I had to wait it out until the drug wore off. My boss even told me she would not let me come to work if I took another one!

Essential Oils for Nasal Congestion
One way to relieve sinus congestion is by inhaling steam with essential oils added. Effective oils include: Eucalyptus, Lavender, Peppermint, Pine, Thyme and Tea Tree. It is generally recommended to alternate the oils and steam frequently, 5 or 6 times a day. I find the easiest way to do this is use a small pan, fill 1/2 full with water. Add 4-6 drops of oil in when the water starts to simmer. DO NOT BOIL. Place a towel over your head and breath the steam. Of course be careful not to burn yourself and keep the towel away from the burner or flame.
