Kidney Problems
I say kidney problems instead of disease because I really don’t like the "D" word. I prefer to say problem, illness, or ailment. To me they just sound better. When I think of a disease I think of something I will never get rid of. A problem, illness or ailment is something I can fix or cure. It is a proven fact that how we think has a whole lot to do with how we heal. The mind-body-spirit connection. So have positive thoughts about those kidney problems and look at them as a way to improve yourself. The man is not sick because he has an illness: he has an illness because he is sick. Now that I have that off my chest lets get back to the kidneys. They are bean shaped organs located on either side of the lower back just below the rib cage. Their job is to filter and remove organic waste from the blood. Then they get rid of this waste, along with excess salt and water, through the urine. They play a role in the acid-alkaline (pH) balance and help control blood pressure. They also produce hormones that regulate the production and release of red blood cells from bone marrow. Busy little organs they are. They filter about 200 quarts of blood a day. They produce about 2 quarts of water and waste every single day.
Other products that they filter include toxic by products of cellular activity (free radicals), alcohol, drugs, food-by-products, excess proteins, minerals, just to name a few. Some of these are quite toxic and do damage. Just imagine if the toxins are not getting flushed out of your body, where do they go? They can stay there and cause a kidney infection, or kidney problems. Signs and symptoms of kidney problems -Retaining water or edema -Large quantities of protein lost in the urine -High blood pressure -Painful and frequent trips to the bathroom to urinate -Chronic lower back pain -Fatigue -Chills and fever Always have your healthcare professional give you a thorough check up if you think you have kidney problems. They are important organs in your overall health. Remember, they filter out the bad stuff that can hurt the body right down to the DNA, the building blocks.

Some of my family who raise cattle would probably dis-own me if I told anyone to completely stop eating it! Exercise some each day. For some of us that doesn’t take any extra work because that is our work. For others it is a challenge. Find something you like to do. For example: gardening, hiking, fishing, or just go for a walk. If you enjoy it, it doesn’t seem like you have to do it. The mind-body-spirit connection purely fascinates me. If I think I’m sick, then I am sick. If I think I’m having a great day, I’m having a great day. If I think I won’t get better, then I don’t get better. If I know I am getting better and better every day then I do. What we think has an effect on every cell in our body, that has been proven without a doubt. Just an awesome subject. Practice it and you will heal faster and stay healthier.
