The best home remedy you can do for your mouth is throw away your store bought toothpaste. It contains man made chemicals and fluoride. Fluoride is actually industrial waste and is not good for you. It does not prevent cavities. It will destroy your teeth and gums. This could be a factor in a toothache. Here are some of my recommendations.

What you can use instead is a home made powder with some herbs in the form of essential oils.

Kathy’s Favorite Tooth Powder

-½ cup baking soda-

-12 drops of essential oil of myrrh-

-10 drops of essential oil of peppermint-

-1 tablet folic acid -ground into a fine powder

-1 tablet coenzyme Q 10 ground into a fine powder, or 1 capsule (drain into mixture)

Put these all together in a snap lid container and shake well. Pour a little hydrogen peroxide (3%) on toothbrush and dip in container to coat toothbrush. Brush away. Rinse well.

This actually inhibits plaque from forming and it a great breath freshener.

is a great way to keep the teeth pearly white. Easy to use and it works.

I had an abscess on my gum above a tooth and my dentist told me there was nothing he could do. It gave me one heck of a toothache that I was determined to get rid of. This is the home remedy for a toothache I used. tea tree oil on it 2 or 3 times a day for 3 or so days. Then I used myrrh oil for 3 or so days 2 or 3 times a day. (Take a q-tip and dab it on. A little goes a long way.) Both of these taste REALLY BAD, but the taste goes away fast. The abscess went away and I found OraMD and have used it since. Guess what has happened? My gums are healthy and the plaque does not add up like it did before. One other point to throw in here is I drink a lot of green tea. It also helps prevent plaque from forming.

The small amount of hydrogen peroxide you use in Kathy's Tooth Powder helps keep your teeth pearly white too. Not too shabby for a mixture that ends up costing less than pennies a day. I’ll bet you haven’t heard that one for a long time! You can also put a small swig of hydrogen peroxide in your mouth and swish for awhile, as long as you can. I spit it out and then let the rest sit for a few minutes. Then rinse well, or brush your teeth. This will naturally whiten your teeth and is great for your gums.

One more natural home remedy for a toothache or infection. Grab a plain ole black tea bag. Soak it in hot water for a few minutes. Put it in your mouth over the infection. Leave it there as long as you can possibly stand it. Keep doing this until the infection is gone. Just a note, the tea draws the infection out of the body so it can get a little gooey. This trick works on infections of all kinds on most parts of the body. Dab tea tree oil or clove oil on a toothache if the tea doesn't fix it. Then go see your dentist.

I hope you find a home remedy for a toothache and gums that works for you as well as they do for me. Herbs are truly a gift from Mother Nature. Your teeth are precious, just try eating without them.

The most important home remedy for a toothache, teeth or your gums is to start as early as you can. If you have young children start them on a natural toothpaste. Just read the labels on the toothpaste you buy. Most of it says not to swallow. I wouldn't let my kids use something in their mouth they shouldn't swallow.
